Video will be posted tomorrow, keep watching at
July 26, 2012 – Hamilton, AL Candidate Forum 2012 was held tonight at Dollies Restaurant (Located Inside the EconoLodge Inn & Suites) in Hamilton, AL.
Thanks so much to the Hamilton Civitans and the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce for making this possible. Also to thanks to Dollies Restaurant and Bobby who served such good food!
You can see below a portion of the large crowd that I estimated to be about 125 people who showed up tonight. Some came to be informed of the candidates stand on various questions concerning the city while others came to support their candidates.
All in all, I was very impressed with the number of people attending the event in Hamilton, Alabama. I look forward to more citizens participating in decision-making events in their city. Go vote, Attend council meetings, get involved in the business decisions. And teach your children the value of their getting involved in the business of their city!
So, I’ll see you at the polls and I hope to see you at the city council meetings and work sessions! Get involved! You can make a difference!

07/20/2012 – Local Candidate Signs Vandalized Last Night…Police Press Anouncement
Hamilton Police Department Press Release:
During the night of July 19th, the campaign signs of a local political candidate were vandalized by someone who spray painted several of them with obscenities. The signs had been posted at various locations throughout the city.
We believe these are acts of malicious individuals that do not directly represent any opposition candidate. The victim’s name in this case is being withheld to emphasize that these are illegal acts and the Hamilton Police Department will enforce a zero tolerance policy regarding anyone involved in criminal activity that does not allow any candidate the fair opportunity to run their campaign.
We are also hopeful that candidates will encourage the public to express their views by voting rather than wrongful or misguided acts.
If anyone has information regarding this or any other crime, they are asked to contact the Hamilton Police Department at (205) 921-7424.*

07/17/2012 – Unofficial List of Qualifiers for Mayor And Council in Hamilton, AL
Below you will find the unofficial list representing those who have qualified to date to run in the August 28th, 2012 Municipal Election for Mayor and City Council members in the City of Hamilton, Alabama. If one candidate does not win a majority of the votes for their race, the top 2 with the most votes will be eligible for a runoff election which will be held October 9th, 2012. The city elections for Hamilton will be held at the E.T. Sims Recreation Center in Hamilton this year. In previous years, city elections have been held at the Hamilton City Hall.
This election will be different in another way as well. A Wet-Dry Referendum will also be on the ballot. The purpose, to see if the majority of Hamilton, Alabama voters want to bring alcohol sales into the city of Hamilton. The former Mayor (Bobby Holliday) and the city council passed an alcohol code ordinance which is still in effect if the vote is in favor of alcohol sales inside the city limits of Hamilton. We will place a link to the Ordinance online for you, our viewers, to read.
