04/02/2014 – HAMILTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TO HOST FIRST-EVER LEADERSHIP COUNCIL MEETING
The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a leadership council meeting comprised of representatives from Hamilton area civic groups and nonprofit organizations, on Tuesday, April 22, 6 p.m., at the Chamber office, located at 190 Military Street South in Hamilton.
The Chamber board in its January meeting discussed the importance of these groups and organizations to the Hamilton area, and considered ways in which it could better coordinate and facilitate the ongoing efforts of the groups, with the chamber board deciding to host a meeting of the various organizations.
The Chamber is extending invitations to two officers or representatives of each group. The purpose of the meeting will be for each group to briefly share its mission, to give an update on its plans and events for 2014, and to explore the idea of coordination of efforts of various groups, which in turn would result in greater success for not only the organizations but for the community as a whole.
Many civic groups and nonprofit organizations have been integral parts of the Hamilton community for many years. There are also newer organizations that aren’t as familiar to the public that this meeting will allow for the sharing of information about their programs and goals. The Chamber board believes this meeting will provide a great opportunity to gain knowledge as to each group’s efforts to strengthen the Hamilton area.
Invitations are being extended to known Hamilton area civic groups and nonprofit organizations, including 20th Century Club, Aggie Plaza, Downtown Hamilton Association, Hamilton Civitans, Hamilton Coterie Club, Hamilton Garden Club, Hamilton Kiwanis, Hamilton Lions Club, Hamilton Toybowl Association, Marion County Habitat for Humanity, Marion County Historical Society, Marion County Humane Society, Marion County Relay for Life, Marion County Salvation Army, Northwest Alabama Arts Council, and Reins of Life Youth Ranch.
If your group or organization does not receive an invitation, please call the Chamber office at (205) 921-7786 or email chamber@hamiltonchamberofcommerce.org and make the Chamber aware, so all qualifying groups can be included in the meeting.
