11/06/2014 – Details on Sitel Job Fair on November 14th
HAMILTON – Sitel, which is hiring 300 new workers, has announced it will have a job fair on Friday, Nov. 14. Bevill State Community College-Hamilton announced on Wednesday, Nov. 5, that the college will hold the job fair at the Bear’s Den of theHamilton Campus. The fair will be held from 8-11:30 a.m.
Sitel recently announced it would add 300 jobs at its Hamilton call center at 500 Industrial Drive at the Bedford Industrial Park. Hirings have already begun.
The company has been hiring particularly because of a contract with Wide Open West, a cable, Internet and phone provider which does business as WOW!
John Thomas, Sitel’s Hamilton site director since December 2013, recently told the Hamilton City Council that the hiring would be done in phases and increase jobs at the facility to 500.
Many of the jobs will be entry-level jobs, where agents will take phone calls. He said there will also be an additional 25 staff positions, such as coaches, trainers, managers and quality control staff.
Anyone wanting to apply for a position may also go to http://www.sitel.com and go to the careers section to apply for listed positions. If they do not have Internet at home, they can come to the Hamilton facility at any time.
A drug screening and background check will be made for prospective employees.
Two classes for new employees have already started. Two more classes will start on about Nov. 24, as will another on Dec. 2.
Previous customer service experience and strong computer knowledge are preferred, according to a recent release from the company.
