First Lady, Dianne Bentley, files for divorce this morning just hours before making an appearance with her husband, Governor, Robert Bentley.
WBRC website reported that Gov. Bentley and Dianne Bentley appeared together at a College Colors Day event around 10 a.m. at the Governor’s Mansion in Montgomery on Friday morning. The governor was wearing his wedding ring at the time.*
Read a PDF of the divorce filing here.]
The documents were filed at 9:24 a.m.. According to the filings, “The Plaintiff states there is such a complete incompatibility of temperament that the parties can no longer live together. There exists a conflict of personalities which destroys the legitimate aims of matrimony and all possibilities of reconciliation are futile. Plaintiff further avers that their marriage has suffered an irretrievable breakdown and that further attempts at reconciliation are impractical and not in the best interests of the parties.”**

Alabama 2015 “Back-to-School” Sales Tax Holiday
August 7 – 9, 2015
Check here for a list of items included in sales tax free weekend.
LOCAL GOVERNMENTS THAT HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEPARTMENT REGARDING PARTICIPATION
Beginning in 2006, a sales tax holiday was enacted, whereby no state sales or use tax is due on covered items as defined in Sections 40-23-210 through 213, Code of Alabama 1975, and in the Sales Tax Holiday for “Back-to-School” Rule 810-6-3-.65. A county or municipality may, by resolution or ordinance adopted at least 30 days prior to the first full weekend of August, provide for the exemption of “covered items” from county or municipal sales or use taxes during the same time period, under the same terms, conditions, and definitions as provided for the state sales tax holiday.*
