Get Out and Celebrate Fall at the Falkville Fall Festival October 13th
Decatur, Ala. (October 4, 2018) – The Town of Falkville, along with the Falkville Volunteer Fire Department, will host its annual Falkville Fall Festival on October 13, 2018, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual event is filled with music and activities for the entire family to enjoy.
A pancake breakfast at the Volunteer Fire Department kicks things off at 7 a.m. where plenty of the fluffy hot cakes will be served until 11 a.m. Donations to the Fire Department will be accepted at the door. The Color Me Downtown 5K run/walk hits the streets at 8 a.m. with arts and crafts vendors, a car show, bingo, antique tractor show and food vendors set up throughout the day. For children, there will be plenty of fun and games to keep everyone entertained including a mechanical bull and a video gaming trailer.
Live music fills the air beginning at 10 a.m. Set to perform is local favorite Jeff Whitlow and the Old Barn Band. Brandon Elder, a singer-songwriter from Arab, Ala., takes the stage at noon. He performs a variety of music that includes country and Southern rock. He made his American Idol debut in March but his run ended when he did not make the cut during Hollywood Week. Headlining this year’s event is Muscadine Bloodline. Natives of Mobile Ala., Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster came together to form Muscadine Bloodline in early 2016. With three single releases under their belt, they have a schedule full of shows spanning from coast to coast. They take the stage at the Falkville Fall festival at 2 p.m.
Sponsored by Widows Son Masonic Riders Association, the motorcycle benefit ride for the Falkville VFW returns to the 2018 festival. The ride leaves the VFW at 10 a.m. and ends at Falkville Masonic Lodge in time for the great entertainment scheduled to perform at the festival. The registration fee to participate is $25 per person. For more information, call 256.341.7117.
All activities take place in the town’s downtown area. The event wraps up around 4 p.m. Admission is free. Falkville is located between Huntsville and Birmingham off of exit 322 on Interstate 65. For more information, visit www.falkville.org or contact the Falkville Town Hall at 256.784.5922.
