Winfield Public Library Closed(until further notice) – 03/15/2020

With consideration of decisions by state and local officials, school systems, and public health departments, the Winfield Public Library Board of Trustees have made the decision to close the library to the public effective immediately until further notice. This includes cancellation of all library programming.

We are closing to protect the health of our staff, our city, and our patrons, for which we care deeply. Closing sooner will offer greater benefit to the social distancing effort to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus in Marion County.

Don’t worry about things like overdue books or returning items. All physical materials currently checked out will have due dates extended until we reopen. All holds that were placed will be waiting for you to pick up when we reopen.

We hope you understand that to interrupt our mission of providing access to information, ideas, and experiences is something we do only because we feel we have no other choice. Please stay safe, monitor your health, follow guidelines recommended by the Center for Disease Control.

We look forward to seeing you again when we reopen, and in the meantime, please take care of yourself and those around you.
