PRESS RELEASE

A New Assembly of God Church Coming to Hamilton

Just a brief note from Dr. Johnny Mays. In my autobiography titled, “Leaving Woods Creek” I share the story of my life and relationship to Marion County and Hamilton, Alabama. Many of you have heard my testimony and preaching. Now after forty-five years of Global Ministry, God has called me back to my hometown of Hamilton, Alabama.

I have recently received confirmation from the Assembly of God Headquarters in Montgomery and their Board of Church Planting and Development to partner with me in the launching of an Assembly of God Church here in Hamilton.

My mission is to develop a team of dedicated preachers, teachers, musicians, and singers to minister together in the “Call of God.” Together we will invite the unchurched believers, as well as those people in our area who are living without the influence of a life-giving, gospel-centered church to join our fellowship.

Someone recently has asked me why we need another church, as they say, “We have so many now.” My answer is, “I thank God for every Bible-believing and the Christ-centered church we have. Our new team wants to join their efforts to impact Marion County for eternity through a new Assembly of God Church which will demonstrate their love for God, their love for people and to share their hope found in Jesus Christ.”

The history of the Assembly of God is stellar and to God be the glory. Today there are more than thirteen thousand Assembly of God churches in the United States with more than three million members and adherents. Worldwide, the Assemblies of God has more than sixty-seven million members and is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the world. Truly we are reaching people out of every nation.

There is a reason for our success in touching the world. It is the result of the favor God has given us, for our vision is simple. We are committed to the following core values.

We passionately proclaim, at home and abroad, by word and deed Jesus as Savior, Baptizer in the Holy Spirit, Healer, and Soon Coming King.

We strategically invest in the next generation.

We vigorously plant new churches and revitalize existing ones.

We skillfully resource our Fellowship.

I request all who are Christians to please, fervently pray for God’s favor and His help as we serve Him with pure hearts and noble purpose. If any may be interested in more information call me, Johnny Mays @ (209) 479-2757 or email me @ johnnymays@gmail.com

The Chuck Wagon Gang is known for having recorded songs such as “Echoes from the Burning Bush”, “The Church In The Wildwood”, “I’ll Fly Away” and other familiar old songs that so identify gospel music’s most recognizable style of music. Everyone has a special invitation to attend an evening of Southern Gospel Music with The Chuck Wagon Gang.

The number one gospel group of all time according to a poll of SGM Radio listeners is: The Chuck Wagon Gang. The results of this poll listed the accomplishments of the Gang over the past 74 years such as being history’s best record selling gospel quartet (over 39 million sold on Columbia Records alone) and the fact that the Chuck Wagon Gang’s style has remained consistent through all those years. Dad Carter would have it no other way. “Sing the old songs and sing ’em the way I taught you,” was his sage advice. And the Gang has done just that.
Today’s group is Dave Emery, Shaye Smith, Stan Hill, Julie Hudson, and Joe Rotton. The quartet still maintains the clear, uncluttered sound of pure music that so established them in the early 1930’s. Four voices and one guitar and an acoustic bass is all it takes for this evergreen foursome to transport the listener to another time and another place where life was a bit simpler and time seemed to move to a slower pace.
Visit the Chuck Wagon Gang website at http://www.thechuckwagongang.net to learn more about The Chuck Wagon Gang Ministries.
