01/11/2013 – Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting!
The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce will host the ribbon cutting for the grand opening of The Dollar Tree on Friday, January 11, at 7:55 a.m. The store will open immediately following at 8 a.m.
The Dollar Tree is the newest business to open in the redevelopment of the Hamilton Heights Shopping Center, 1500 Military Street South in Hamilton.
The Dollar Tree’s hours will be Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to participate in the National Day of Prayer ceremonies at the Hamilton City Hall. Community pastors will share inspirational messages and offer prayers for our city, county, state, and nation.

The Hamilton Area Chamber of Commerce and the merchants of Hamilton invite you to attend the third annual Customer Appreciation Day. Participate in the “Hamilton Bucks” program! Come shop till you drop with the special sales going on all over town! Over $1,400 in Hamilton Bucks will be given away from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be activities for all ages — free hot dogs and drinks (from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. only), a kids’ area, antique cars, food vendors, and live gospel, rock, and country music will fill the air as bands perform throughout the afternoon and in to the evening. Bring your lawnchairs and come join in the fun! Remember, Shop Hamilton First!

Please join us as we raise money for Safeplace and awareness about child abuse and domestic violence through Safeplace’s 10th Annual Walk a Mile for a Child. All donations will go to Safeplace, and Marion County competes against the other 5 counties served by Safeplace. Corporate sponsors’ info will go on WAM t-shirts worn in all 6 counties, and individuals who donate can get shirts. Our events will be on Friday,April 13th at 10:00 at the Hamilton Walking Track and Saturday, April 14th at 10:00 at the Winfield Community Center. The Hamilton event will feature Bryan Williams & Jeff Fleming, and the Winifield event will include a car show. This is a great service opportunity for school groups, civic organizations, clubs, businesses, churches, etc! Donations are welcome even if you can’t attend either event. VA Mobile Clinic beginning service to Hamilton.
It is a tremendous honor for Hamilton area to have been selected as a host site for the VA Mobile Clinic. Please see the attached brochure for additional information. Please be aware that this is not a walk-in clinic; veterans are required to have an appointment.
The VA Mobile Clinic will serve the Hamilton area on Wednesdays at the Hamilton Recreation Center, 317 Seventh Avenue Southwest.
To enroll for services offered by the Mobile Health Clinic or to schedule an appointment:
• For enrollment, contact Michael Lavender, Alabama Veterans Rural Health Initiative, at 205-454-8099.
