12/09/2013 – One Dead at Scene in a One Vehicle Accident in Saragossa, AL

SARAGOSSA, AL – A one vehicle accident claims the life of one person on Highway 5 today and sends one to UAB Hospital…

Mable Criddle, age 71, of Hamilton, AL died at the scene of a one vehicle accident on Highway 5 near Saragossa, Alabama today, shortly after 2:00 p.m.  Her husband’s condition, (also in the vehicle), was unknown at this time.  He was transported by Regional Paramedic Services to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, AL.

Saragossa Fire Department was on the scene to stabalize the vehicle and extract the victims.  Walker County Emergency Management Agency was on hand to control the fuel spill and Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate; a common procedure in any accident when a fatality occurs.
